It was created to support the training, boarding, and education services we offer by providing high-quality products that align with our training philosophy. Our Story
Fifteen years ago, when we first started training dogs, we noticed a pattern. Every time a dog finished a program, the owners would circle back with the same questions:
“What leash should I buy?”
“What long line do you recommend?”
“Where do I get the equipment you used?”
The more dogs we trained, the more often the questions came. We realized that if we truly wanted to support our clients, we needed more than just answers. We needed solutions. So we began carrying training essentials inside our facility, ready to hand to owners the moment they needed them—whether it was mid-program or at graduation.
As time went on, our training business grew, so did the demand, and soon we earned multiple licenses and partnerships with manufacturers. When the retail space next door to Found Chicago opened up, it just made sense. Our work had naturally evolved into something bigger, and Mojo Dog Co. was born. But the story didn’t stop there.
For over a decade, we’ve been deeply involved in dog sports and competition. Just like our pet-training clients, competitors began asking where they could find sport equipment—tugs, wedges, sleeves, gear that was always in short supply. So we added it to our shelves. Mojo became not just a shop for pet owners, but a hub for trainers and sport handlers looking for reliable gear they could trust.
The name Mojo comes from two very special dogs: Mona and Jolie. They were our first adventure partners—from road trips to hikes to our earliest days in dog sport. Instead of calling both names on the trail, we’d simply call “Mojo,” and they’d come running. When it came time to name the store, nothing felt more fitting. Mojo Dog Co. is a tribute to the dogs who launched our journey and shaped us into the professional dog trainers we are today.
Today, Mojo carries products we personally source and stand behind—from raw food and Ruffland kennels to premium training equipment and dog sport essentials. Everything aligns with modern training philosophies, practical application, and what we know works from hands-on experience.
At the heart of Mojo Dog Co. is a simple mission: Give dog owners, trainers, and competitors access to gear they can trust—paired with the knowledge, service, and reliability this industry deserves.
